NHS Health Check

Eligibility

You are eligible for an NHS Health Check once every 5 years if you are aged between 40 – 74 and live or work in the Lancashire County Council area

Unsure of your local council?

If you have one of the following pre-existing conditions, you are not eligible to receive an NHS Health Check:

Coronary heart disease
Chronic kidney disease
Diabetes
Hypertension
Atrial fibrillation
Transient ischaemic attack
Familial hypercholesterolaemia
Heart failure
Peripheral arterial disease
Stroke

You are also not able to receive an NHS Health Check if:

You are taking medication to lower your cholesterol
You have been assessed through an NHS Health Check (or equivalent) to have a 20% or higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease

If you’re not eligible, you may still be able to have a blood pressure check and lifestyle conversation. Speak to a member of the team if you see us out and about.
